KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A church in the Northland is hoping to bring some light into this dark time for families.

Northland Cathedral is distributing non-perishable food items for people that need it. Starting at 9 a.m., families in the area can drive up and volunteers will put the food in their car. The distribution includes milk and bread. All volunteers will be wearing masks and gloves when delivering.

Pastor Kevin Smith with the church said this is going to be a no questions asked event. They want families to feel comfortable and not ashamed to ask for help.

"We want to create an environment where people can feel comfortable to come and the thing is, anytime there is a pandemic or a crisis like this, everyone is suffering. I think we have to recognize that we are all in this together," said Smith.

The church is located at 101 NW 99th Street, Kansas City, MO.
