KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One local organization is selling T-shirts to raise funds that will help hospitality workers in the Kansas City metro.
Jeremiah Kelly, with the KC Hospitality Support Initiative, said there are two shirt designs for sale, with 100 percent of the profits going toward buying $50 grocery store gift cards for service-industry employees.
“Any relief aid is really taking a long time so we noticed there was an immediate need for it so we're doing what we can to help our fellow industry workers,” Kelly said.
Kelly said he would like to continue helping workers after the coronavirus pandemic is over.
“A lot of people who choose to work in this industry are very selfless and compassionate and empathetic and really love serving other people,” he said. “So this is a way to continue helping people that are giving up part of their personal lives to serve people on a daily basis.”
