KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Park Hill School District will transition all students to remote learning beginning Nov. 30.
The district announced the decision Wednesday, citing “the health risk to our students and staff and because of the increasing issues we’re having with staffing,” according to a statement on the PHSD website.
Remote learning will continue through Dec. 11, in accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommendation for quarantine.
School offices will remain open during virtual learning.
PHSD has reported 61 new COVID-19 cases in the district, including 24 at elementary schools and Gerner Family Education Center.
“We have seen these same kinds of numbers in our younger grades over the last few weeks,” the statement read. “This is why we must include our younger students in this shift to distance learning.”
