KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Planet Comicon Kansas City has been rescheduled for Aug. 14-16, 2020, event organizers announced Tuesday.

The original plan was to conduct the event this weekend at the Kansas City Convention Center’s Bartle Hall, but it had to be postponed because of the global COVID-19 pandemic.

For those who already purchased tickets to the 2020 event, standard admissions purchases can be transferred automatically to the new August dates.

“All March 2020 ticket holders who transfer their tickets to the August 2020 event will receive a complimentary, Planet Comicon KC exclusive, limited edition, licensed ‘The Child’ pin (from The Mandalorian),” Planet Comicon KC said in a statement.

Ticket holders who cannot make the delayed 2020 event also may opt to transfer tickets to the 2021 event.

Organizers also announced Tuesday that Planet Comicon Kansas City 2021 will take place April 16-18 next year.

If neither of those options work, people who already bought tickets for this weekend’s event may request a full refund.

Anyone who bought a standard ticket or Fast Pass, which included a $25 Planet Comicon Kansas City merchandise voucher, will have that voucher automatically transferred to a future event.

However, any ticket-holder who opts for a refund will forfeit the merchandise voucher.

Fast Pass ticket-holders should visit the website for additional information about those tickets.

Purchasers have until April 17 to make a decision about how to use the tickets — August 2020, April 2021 or a full refund — otherwise the tickets will transfer automatically to the August 2020 Planet Comicon Kansas City.
