KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Administrators in the Ray-Pec school district are hoping to give seniors a chance to celebrate their graduation in-person.
Schools have been closed since March as part of statewide efforts to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. That closure postponed the original graduation ceremony for May 15.
On Monday, the district said it hopes to honor the Class of 2020 during in-person ceremonies on Friday, July 17 at Panther Stadium, with a rain make-up date of Saturday, July 18.
The district said that additional guidance from local, state and federal authorities may still affect the scheduling of the event.
