KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Shawnee Mission Park Beach will be closed for two weeks after a staff member tested positive for COVID-19.

Johnson County Park and Recreation District officials stated in a news release that the staff member was involved in training with other beach staff and no patrons were present at the time.

Beach operations will be closed immediately through July 17.

Those who had reservations for the beach during this two-week period were notified and will be issued refunds.

While the beach is closed, the facility will be deep cleaned and disinfected.
