KANSAS CITY, Mo. — On Sunday night, the Kansas City, Missouri Health Department announced pop-up testing sites across the city for residents who wanted to be tested for COVID-19.
Before noon Monday, the city said all of the slots available during three days of testing had already been filled.
The city is offering free testing today, Tuesday and Wednesday at four locations for residents who wanted a test. Residents had to pre-register and be at least 7 years-old, but do not need to have any symptoms.
By 11 a.m., the health department said all 500 slots had been filed up and the city was no longer accepting registrations.
“This shows how urgently we and other cities/counties need testing kits and supplies,” health department spokesperson Michelle Pekarsky said in a release. “We will continue to work with the state to get more supplies and coordinate future pop-up clinics.”
