KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Wyandotte County residents will not be able to use the Neighborhood Resource Center in-person until early next year.

The Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas, announced Wednesday that the Neighborhood Resource Center at 4953 State Avenue would be closed beginning Thursday until at least Jan. 4, 2021.

The temporary closure is being blamed on staffing issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Citizens are asked to allow for at least 48 hours for a response to requests made by phone or email while staff deals with a growing backlog.

Additionally, citizens are encouraged to leave only one voicemail or send only one email regarding an issue as multiple messages slow down response time.

The Neighborhood Resource Center, which opened in 1999, provides a one-stop shop for residents to get neighborhood issues addressed. It can be reached by calling 913-573-8600.
