KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Volunteers with the Veterans Community Project have been busy to help the veteran population during the coronavirus pandemic.

Many veterans who live in the community offered to take part. So many, in fact, that organizers had to turn some of them away.

Josh Henges, VCP director, said the veteran population knows how to deal with intensity.

“They've really come together in ways I never thought,” Henges said, “and people who I would’ve never thought would join, have jumped in to volunteer.”

The VCP wants homes to be ready and prepared for both veterans and emergency personnel, should they need it.
