KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A group of Kansas City area military veterans have new orders, provide laughter for folks during the COVID-19 crisis.

The Veterans of Comedy publish a 1 a.m. comedy show each morning on a Facebook group page called Broken Zzz's.

The act is designed to provide temporary relief from the reality of the pandemic.

The founder of the group, Will C., told 41 Action News the shows help them as much as their viewers.

"This is therapy for us, too,'' Will C. said. "The VA tells us to find something. Through comedy and stand-up, it's a cliche to say comedy heals and laughter is the best medicine, but we prove it time and and time again.''

Will C. said he and three other comedians have an 8 p.m. show Saturday called "The Couch Comedy Club."

They talk about performing and writing stand-up comedy, and the audience can submit jokes and stories.

An audience member deemed funny enough could be asked to join the group.
