KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Drexel, Missouri, Volunteer Fire Department helped make dozens of families’ Easter Sunday a little brighter.
Many families limited their celebration due to COVID-19 concerns and stay-at-home orders.
Knowing this, the department gathered 20 first responder volunteers for “Operation Easter Bunny.”
Wearing masks and gloves, they stuffed 2,500 plastic eggs with goodies.
The volunteers then hid them around the homes of 72 families for more than 150 children to find in the morning.
“We hope your kids enjoyed the hunt as much as we enjoyed putting it altogether,” the department wrote in a Facebook post.
