KANSAS CITY, MO — A local youth group recently delivered masks for residents at an Overland Park assisted living center.
Teenagers from the Mid-America Asian Cultural Association (MAACA) youth group took 100 masks to Vintage Park Assisted Living. George Gau, pharmacist at iPharma in Overland Park, provided the masks.
The teens themselves wore masks and gloves in making the delivery, while respecting social distancing. They decided to help because senior citizens are at high risk of contracting COVID-19.
The Vietnam Association of Greater Kansas City also is helping its community by providing food, masks and hand sanitizers to senior citizens. The efforts helped seniors who are financially struggling and those who can't go to the grocery store.
MAACA also is providing guidance for people who have lost their jobs and small businesses and are applying for financial assistance.
