2 adults taken to hospital after shooting, standoff in Independence Saturday

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Two adults were taken to a hospital and one suspect was taken into custody after a shooting and standoff in Independence Saturday morning, according to a spokesperson with the Independence Police Department.

The incident occurred around 11 a.m. near East 16th Street and North Blue Mills Road.

The conditions of the victims are unknown, per the spokesperson.
