2 dead, 1 critically injured in Raytown shooting police deem 'domestic in nature'

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Raytown, Missouri, police said two people are dead and one is critically injured after a shooting early Tuesday morning.

Just before 6 a.m., officers were called to the 11700 block of East 83rd Street on reports of a shooting.

When they got there, they found a 44-year-old woman and 49-year-old man dead inside a home, both with apparent gunshot wounds.

The officers also found a 45-year-old man who had been shot, but was still alive.

He was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police said the shooting appears to be a domestic incident and there is no immediate danger to the public.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is assisting the Raytown Police Department Investigations Bureau with the scene.
