KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One man died and another was injured in a shooting Tuesday night in the 2200 block of East 68th Street in Kansas City, Missouri, police said.

KCPD spokesman Capt. Tim Hernandez said officers were called to the scene just before 11:30 p.m.

When they got there, they found a 19-year-old man behind a house, whose occupant had called 911. The teen had been shot in the leg.

Officers then heard screaming coming from the front of a house near 68th and Olive streets.

There, they saw a woman who had found a second shooting victim, a 20-year-old man.

Both men were taken to a local hospital. The second shooting victim, identified as Cortez Nash, was initially on life support but died Wednesday morning.

The 19-year-old was in fair condition, Hernandez said.

Police had no suspect information available.
