2 men suffer life-threatening injuries in Raytown shooting

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Two men were injured in a shooting late Wednesday night in the 5600 block of Crescent Avenue in Raytown, police said.

Raytown police were called to a residence around 10:37 p.m. on reports of shots fired.

When officers arrived, they found two men with gunshot wounds.

Police said one of the victims, 28-year-old Phillip James of Kansas City, Missouri, subsequently died from his injuries. The other victim, who has not been identified, remains in stable condition, police said.

The two victims were taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.
