Police ID victim who died in double shooting at 22nd and Walrond

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – One person was killed and another was injured in a double shooting Thursday afternoon.

The man who died has been identified as Tyrone Standifer, 55.

Police officers were called out to 18th and Prospect around 4 p.m. on a shooting.

They located the two victims on the scene. Standifer was dead at the scene. The second victim, a black male in his 40s, was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries 

Kansas City police officers said the victims were shot near 22nd and Walrond. They were able to drive their car about a half mile away to 18th and Prospect where the car stopped. 

The motive for the shooting is unknown at this time. Officers are searching for a black male suspect who is between 6 feet and 6 feet 2 inches tall with short hair. He was wearing a dark grey or black tank top. His build is described as stocky. He left the scene on foot.
