2-year-old shot to death in Gladstone

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Gladstone police officers responding to a shooting call around 6 p.m. Tuesday made a tragic discovery.

According to Gladstone Police Capt. Rob Hays, officers found a 2-year-old boy suffering from a gunshot wound at an apartment complex in the 100 block of Northeast 59th Terrace.

The child was transported to the hospital, where he died from his injuries.

There were no other children in the house.

Gladstone detectives are investigating the circumstances of the shooting and have launched a death investigation.

Police are not looking for any suspects.

By 10 p.m., there was still a heavy police presence at the apartment complex.
