INDEPENDENCE, Mo. — An Independence man has been charged in the deadly shooting of Angela Green.
Nathan Ayers, 28, is charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action.
Court documents say Independence police officers were sent to the 10500 block of E. 10th Street on June 26 to check on Angela Green after family members heard she had been shot.
When officers entered the home, they saw Green dead in the living room with an apparent gunshot wound to her head.
Court records say Independence police talked with the homeowner, who said he was letting Ayers live at the home.
A witness told police Ayers confronted Green and shot her. The witness said Ayers gave him a gun to hide after the shooting.
Prosecutors requested a bond of $500,000 cash.
