OLATHE, Kan. – Adam Purinton, the man charged with murder in the February 2017 shooting at Austin’s Bar and Grill, could make a plea in the case this spring.

Court records show that a scheduled plea hearing for May 8 has been canceled.

In its place, the judge has scheduled a plea hearing for 1:30 p.m. on March 6.

Purinton is charged with one count of premeditated first-degree murder and two counts attempted first-degree murder. He pleaded not guilty on all three charges and waived his preliminary hearing in late November 2017.

Purinton is accused of confronting two Indian men, Srinivas Kuchibhotla and Alok Madasani, at Austin's Bar & Grill in Olathe. According to court documents, Madasani told investigators that Purinton asked if he and Kuchibhotla's "status was legal."
