Aggravated assault suspect leads KCPD on high-speed chase

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police responding to a domestic violence aggravated assault near Interstate 435 and Winner Road were led on a half-hour chase before the subject was taken into custody without further incident.

Officers were called to the area shortly after 2:15 p.m. to investigate a disturbance involving a possibly armed subject, according to Kansas City, Missouri, police.

Upon arrival, a female exited a maroon sedan, which fled the scene.

The driver led police on a high-speed chase with speeds approaching 100 mph. He repeatedly passed cars on the shoulder while weaving in and out of traffic.

The chase briefly entered Raytown before ending around 2:45 p.m. along I-435 just south of Raytown Road.
