KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Two brothers have been charged in a deadly south Kansas City shooting, the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office said Friday.

Terry L. Williams, 29, and Tyree L. Williams, 20, each face charges of second-degree murder, armed criminal action and attempted distribution of a controlled substance.

Terry Williams faces an additional charge of unlawful possession of a firearm, and Tyree Williams faces additional charges of resisting arrest and possession of a controlled substance.

The shooting happened around 8 p.m. Tuesday in a city park near 113th Terrace and Ruskin Way.

A witness told police she dropped off the victim, identified as 25-year-old Quindell Burrell, to meet the brothers for an alleged drug transaction, according to the prosecutor’s office.

When the witness returned, she found Burrell dead after being shot.

Surveillance video corroborated her story and showed Terry Williams extend “his arm in a shooting posture.”

The brothers tried to evade police during a high-speed chase that ended near 109th Street and Hickman Mills Drive.

The prosecutor’s office has requested a $300,000 cash-only bond for both men.
