KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A homicide investigation is underway after a teen was found shot to death on a church parking lot in south Kansas City, Missouri, on Monday.
About 9:30 a.m., police were called to the area near Raytown and Bannister roads on reports of a dead body.
On arrival, officers were directed to the parking lot where the teen was unresponsive and suffering from gunshots wounds.
Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
Police later identified him as 16-year-old Tytus Bridgeford.
Detectives were working to figure out what led to the violence.
