Homicide investigation underway after man dies in east Kansas City shooting

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A man died after being shot in east Kansas City, Missouri, on Thursday night, according to police.

The shooting unfolded just before 9 p.m. in the 1800 block of east 67th Street.

When police arrived, they found an adult man lying in the street with gunshot wounds.

Officers say the man was taken to the hospital where he died.

Police say their initial investigation shows the incident began over a physical altercation between multiple parties outside of a nearby home.

Police say the physical altercation stemmed from a verbal argument.

Police do not have anyone in custody at this time.
