Original story |One person died in a shooting Tuesday afternoon in the 3500 block of Independence Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri.
The shooting happened in the 3500 block of Independence Avenue.
A KCPD spokesperson said that a suspect walked up to the victim, shot and then fled the scene.
Witnesses reported seeing a man in black hoodie and gray shorts flee the scene, according to a KCPD official.
The suspect later died at an area hospital.
