KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Independence police announced they are searching for other victims of an Independence teacher who is accused of carrying on inappropriate relationships with students.
Robert L. Bluett III is charged with two counts of sexual contact with a student.
Court documents released Thursday allege Bluett exchanged sexually explicit messages and received sexual acts from two William Chrisman High School students. Bluett worked at the school as a coach, paraprofessional and substitute teacher.
IPD announced Friday that detectives discovered Bluett is 'friends' with multiple students on Facebook and Snapchat. Investigators are now seeking information from additional victims who may have had unlawful or inappropriate contact with Bluett.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Independence Police Department's Criminal Investigation Unit at 816-325-7330.
In a statement, an Independence School District spokeswoman said high school staff followed protocol and the employee is no longer at the district.
Prosecutors have requested a $75,000 bond for Bluett.
