15-year-old girl shot, killed Monday morning in KCK

UPDATE, July 2 | The victim has been identified as 15-year-old Lesly Franco Galvan of Kansas City, Kansas.

ORIGINAL STORY, June 29 | Kansas City, Kansas, police are investigating the shooting death of a teenage girl Monday morning.

According to police, the victim showed up at a hospital around 1:52 a.m. on Monday. She was rushed into surgery with life-threatening injuries, but she died at the hospital, according to KCK police.

Police said the girl, who was 15 years old, was shot while in a vehicle in the area of South Boeke Street and Osage Avenue.

The witnesses who were also in the vehicle with the shooting said they didn't know where they were when the shooting happened or who did it.

Police said they do not have a suspect in custody.
