KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A man accused of killing his girlfriend in their Kansas City, Missouri, home later turned himself in while claiming he had been "set up," according to court records.

Kelshaun D. Moseley, 28, was charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action in the death of Keva Hill, who was found fatally shot inside a home near East 59th Street and Agnes Avenue early Thursday morning.

According to a probable cause statement, Moseley went to Research Medical Center around 4 a.m., where he told an off-duty police officer that he wanted to turn himself in.

He initially did not offer details but said “something happened” and that he had killed a person, according to the statement. He then gave police an address, where officers found Hill dead from apparent gunshot wounds.

Multiple witnesses at the hospital told police that Moseley had approached them, saying that he needed to turn himself in. He told one witness, “She set me up. Someone’s dead,” according to records.

Moseley was taken into custody after officers found Hill at the home. A detective observed apparent blood on his hands and clothing, according to records.

Moseley told police it was the second time he had been set up for criminal charges.

Police determined Hill had been shot at least twice. Bullet holes were found in several walls throughout the home, along with 11 spent shell casings.

Prosecutors requested a $250,000 cash bond for Moseley.
