KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City Police are investigating a fatal crash in the 7500 block of Oldham Road.
Police say the two-car head-on crash happened just before 12:30 a.m.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a white Hyundai Elantra was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of Oldham.
At Oakwood and Oldham, the Hyundai struck a black Dodge Durango that was traveling southbound on Oldham head on.
The unrestrained driver and sole occupant of the Hyundai was pronounced dead at the scene.
The restrained driver and juvenile passenger of the Dodge were transported to an area hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
The driver and passenger of the Dodge are in stable condition, and the investigation is ongoing.
KCPD says this is fatality number eight, compared to three at this time last year.
