KCPD investigating 4th homicide of the week, 144th of the year

UPDATE, 3:15 p.m. | KCPD identified the victim in this case as 19-year-old, Jalen M. Davis.

ORIGINAL STORY, 3:29 a.m. | Kansas City, Missouri, police are investigating the city's 144th homicide for the year and fourth this week.

According to police, a resident in the 7300 block of East 84th Street called police around 2 a.m. about a suspicious car.

When officers arrived, they found a man dead near the car.

Police do not know if the man was shot there or somewhere else. He has no relation to the house that made the 911 call.

Oldham Road was closed in both directions for several blocks while police investigated.

There is no suspect information at this time.
