KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police in Kansas City, Missouri, are looking for a suspect who allegedly tried to rob a McDonald's, carjacked a victim and was also involved in a shootout with police on Thursday night.

KCPD officers responded to a McDonald's at 8326 Wornall Road just before 9 p.m. on a reported robbery with shots fired. No employees were injured in the shooting.

The suspect fled the scene and shot at another vehicle, according to police. The occupant in the vehicle was not injured.

KCPD later arrived at Brookside Boulevard and West Meyer Boulevard around 10:10 p.m. and found the suspect vehicle. Police said the suspect opened fire at the officers, who returned fire.

The suspect fled again to the parking lot behind the local businesses and carjacked an unsuspecting victim, police said.

Officers engaged with the suspect again.

Police said the suspect fired gunshots again at officers and fled in the victim's vehicle.

The carjacking victims were not injured.

A local law enforcement agency found the vehicle abandoned in the area of West 73rd Street and Cherokee Drive in Prairie Village at which time they began searching for the suspect.

Police said the suspect remains at-large and poses a threat to the public.

He's described as a white man in his early 30s with a thin build, a patchy black beard, and shoulder-length black hair. He was wearing a black T-shirt.
