KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Kansas City man has been charged in two separate homicides.

Jerome T. Roberson, 33, is charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action in the death of Michael W. Cantwell. Cantwell was found suffering from gunshot wounds on Nov. 2 near the 2500 block of Quincy in Kansas City, Missouri.

Roberson is also charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action in the death of Brandon R. Brown. Brown was found shot in the face after Independence police were dispatched on a reported assault on Oct. 28 near the 12800 block of East 47th Street. Police allegedly spoke to a witness who saw Roberson run up and shoot Brown before fleeing the scene.

KCPD first announced they were looking for Roberson on Nov. 3, a day after Cantwell's death. But Roberson managed to evade capture until Nov. 11. He was taken into custody in the 3800 block of East 8th Street.

Prosecutors have requested a $500,000 cash-only bond for each murder warrant.
