KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A woman suspected of murder in Wyandotte County was captured by Marshall, Missouri police Sunday.

According to a release from the Marshall Police Department, Tara Alise Treece, 28, of Kansas City, Kansas was arrested after allegedly making a disturbance at a hotel.

Officers were already posted at the hotel when the disturbance was reported because they were aware of Treece's presence and were awaiting a warrant.

On Feb. 4, hotel staff allegedly told police that Treece was being violent in her room and throwing items into the wall. They also said they were worried she would hurt herself. When officers entered the lobby, Treece was standing a few feet away and screaming.

She was arrested for peace disturbance on Sunday and on Monday, Feb. 5, she was charged with crimes in Wyandotte County.

Treece is charged with second-degree murder and criminal use of weapons in connection with the death of Megan Hernandez in Kansas City, Kansas. Hernandez was found stabbed to death on the porch of her South Mill Street home in January.

Treece is in jail in Saline County, Missouri. She has waived extradition and will be returned to Wyandotte County.

Treece is being held on a $200,000 bond for the charges from Wyandotte County and a $2,500 bond for peace disturbance from Saline County.
