UPDATE, Oct. 21 | The victim was identified as 36-year-old Calvin Cofield of Kansas City, Kansas.
ORIGINAL STORY, Oct. 18 | Kansas City, Kansas police are investigating an apparent homicide after finding a body near Quindaro Park.
Police received a call about a deceased person near N. 32nd and Sloan avenue shortly after 1:30 a.m. Sunday.
The victim is a man in his late 20s to early 30s.
This is the 42nd homicide in KCK in 2020, adding to an already record-setting year for homicides. The city had 39 homicides in all of 2019. Police told 41 Action News in July they had already doubled the number of homicides compared to the same time in 2019.
