KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City, Kansas, police were investigating a man's death as a homicide after his body was found inside a barrel on Wednesday.
Shortly before 1 p.m., police tweeted that officers were at the scene of a homicide, which occurred near North 18th Street and Kansas 5.
A police spokesman said a male victim was found inside a barrel at the location, which is north of Memorial Park Cemetery Sunset on North 18th Street. A preliminary investigation found the man was placed in a barrel and set on fire, police said.
A passerby noticed a human limb sticking out of the barrel around 11:30 a.m. and contacted police.
Investigators were working to collect evidence at the scene.
