KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A person of interest is in custody after a woman was fatally shot Sunday night in Kansas City, Missouri.
KCPD officers responded shortly before 6 p.m. to the 11300 block of Ditman Avenue, where the woman was located suffering from gunshot wounds.
EMS declared the woman — identified Tuesday as 22-year-old Elizabeth Miles — dead at the scene, according to a KCPD spokesperson.
Police also announced Tuesday that the case has been referred to the Jackson County Prosecuting Attorney's Office for consideration of charges in the case.
