UPDATE, Aug. 10 | The victim was identified as 56-year-old Stacey Bell of Kansas City.

ORIGINAL STORY, Aug. 9 | Kansas City, Missouri, police are investigating a homicide that occurred Sunday on Ward Parkway Plaza.

Police responded at 5 p.m. Sunday to the 8100 block of Ward Parkway Plaza on an unknown medical call.

The victim, an adult woman in her 50s, was found unresponsive residence, according to police.

A person of interest, an adult woman in her 20s who is related to the victim, is in custody, according to a KCPD spokesperson.

Police said it appears that the incident is "a domestic violence situation that resulted in the victim being injured by the relative."

Medical examiners are expected to determine the cause of death, police said.

No additional suspects are sought at this time.
