UPDATE, Aug. 26 | The victims in the case were identified by KCPD as 19-year-old Jahmiere Green and 23-year-old Brandon Rainey.
ORIGINAL STORY, Aug. 25 | Gunfire into a car killed two men Tuesday night at North Montgall and Guinotte avenues in Kansas City's East Bottoms.
Police went to the area about 8 p.m. to check on a report of multiple gunshots, according to Sgt. Jake Becchina, police department spokesperson.
The two victims were adults, but their names and ages have not been released.
There is no suspect information at this time.
Detectives are going through the neighborhood looking for anyone who have might heard or seen something before the murders.
The deaths mark the 128th and 129th homicides in the city, compared to 98 on this date in 2019.
