KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City, Missouri, police are investigating a deadly shooting at the Cloverleaf Apartments in south Kansas City.

The shooting happened around 6:45 a.m. Friday. Police said one person, a woman in her 20s or 30s, was killed. She passed away at the hospital.

The call originally went to Grandview police and was transferred to KCPD. It said that someone was shot and lying on the property.

It is at least the third shooting to happen at the apartment complex in 2020 alone.

Another homicide was investigated there in August 2019, and police reported 351 calls for service at the complex in 2018 despite just containing 200 units.

On Friday morning, police were working to determine what led to the latest shooting.
