KANSAS CITY, Mo. — KCPD said a man is dead after a shooting near 40th and Park.
Police said officers were dispatched to the area on sounds of gunshots around 4:20 a.m.
When they got to the scene they found a person, who they initially said was a Hispanic man in his mid 20s, lying in the grass. Police said he was pronounced dead a short time later.
The victim was later identified as 43-year-old Joseph H. Honea of Kingston, Missouri.
Police had no suspect information as of early Thursday morning.
