KCPD investigating homicide near 10th Street, Fuller Avenue

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City, Missouri, police are investigating the city’s second homicide of 2021.

KCPD officers were dispatched shortly before 1 p.m. on Friday to a reported shooting in the 6500 block of East 10th Street near the intersection with Fuller Avenue.

One man, later identified as 26-year-old Jeffery Brown, was located at the scene suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency responders declared the victim dead at the scene.

KCPD personnel were processing the scene for evidence and canvassing the area for witnesses.

This is the second homicide in KCMO this year after a bloody 2020, which saw a record 176 homicides in the city.
