KCPD: Maintenance worker dies after stabbing at apartment complex

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A 63-year-old maintenance employee at an apartment complex died over the weekend after he was stabbed Friday morning, according to Kansas City, Missouri, police.

Shortly after 8 a.m. Friday, police responded to a disturbance at an apartment complex in the 3200 block of Linwood Boulevard.

Witnesses told police that the victim, identified as Larry Dickerson, and a male suspect were fighting in front of a building at the apartment complex when the suspect stabbed Dickerson and ran from the scene.

Dickerson, who lived and worked at the apartment complex, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. Police said he died Sunday.

According to police data, 113 people have been killed in Kansas City in 2020, which is on track to be the deadliest year in the city’s history.
