KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police in Kansas City, Missouri, want to know if you can help locate a vehicle, which may have been connected to the city’s latest homicide.
LeGend Taliferro, a 4-year-old who had survived multiple heart surgeries, was shot and killed early Monday morning as he slept in his bed at the Citadel Apartments in the 1600 block of Bushman Road, near East 63rd Street and Paseo Boulevard.
KCPD released a 16-second video and a photo of a car spotted leaving the area at the time of the shooting and are asking for the public’s help to identify the owner and/or driver.
“If viewers can identify make/model/year, plate info, who it belongs to, and any other details or information about this homicide it would help us in getting this homicide solved,” a spokeswoman said in an email accompanying the release of the surveillance imagery.
Police believe LeGend’s apartment was targeted and the shooting was not random.
Anyone with information on LeGend’s shooting or the vehicle may call the KCPD Homicide Unit at 816-234-5043 or report the information anonymously to the Greater Kansas City Crime Stoppers Tips Hotline online, by calling 816-474-TIPS (8477) or through the P3Tips mobile app.
