Leavenworth prison escapee turns himself in

UPDATE 11/13: Timothy Taylor turned himself into authorities Saturday evening. He is currently back in custody.

Federal inmate Timothy Taylor was discovered missing from the minimum security federal prison camp at Leavenworth Friday night.

Taylor was discovered missing at approximately 10:10 p.m.

He is a 41-year-old black male, 6' 3", 310 pounds.

The U.S. Marshals service and other law enforcement agencies were notified, and an internal investigation is underway.

Taylor was sentenced in the Western District of Missouri to 120 months for Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine Base.

The Federal Prison Camp is a minimum security facility that houses approximately 400 male offenders.
