KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Raytown man has been charged in connection with social media threats that he would shoot a school, according to a news release from the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office.
Lucas Ledford, 23, is charged with one misdemeanor count of third-degree terrorist threat.
According to court documents, Raytown police were contacted on Feb. 27 about threats of a school shooting towards the Raytown School District. Residents reported that Ledford posted in a Facebook group that he would shoot group members and Raytown schools after a disagreement in the group.
Raytown officers contacted Ledford. He told them he wasn’t going to do anything, and the whole thing was a misunderstanding.
Prosecutors requested a bond of $5,000.
