KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A man is facing charges after he allegedly shot and killed another person after an argument outside an apartment complex Monday.
Jason K. Cook, 21, is charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action.
Police said surveillance video showed Cook getting into an argument with Cameron Douglas on the stoop of Douglas' apartment complex in the 5300 block of Oak Leaf Drive. Douglas started to walk away with his hands in his pockets but turned around to say something to Cook. Cook then allegedly began shooting, and Douglas attempted to flee while Cook continued to fire.
Cook is then seen getting into a vehicle and driving away, police said.
Prosecutors said eight shell casings were found at the scene. The KC Crime Lab reportedly matched the casing with a gun found at the residence Cook allegedly went to after the shooting.
Prosecutors have requested a $500,000 bond.
