KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One man died two days after his car was sprayed by gunfire in Kansas City, Missouri, police said Friday.
Kareem Nelson was in the car Tuesday afternoon at East 23rd Street and Indiana Avenue when someone in another car fired into Nelson's car, police said.
The 20-year-old Nelson was taken to a hospital, where he died around noon on Thursday.
At least one bullet slammed into a Kansas City Area Transportation Authority bus, but police do not think the bus was a target of the gunman.
No passengers were on the bus at the time, and no injuries were reported.

This was the 144th homicide of the year in Kansas City, Missouri, compared with 131 homicides at this time last year.
