KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City police are looking for the driver involved in a deadly hit-and-run late Tuesday night.

Police said a dark gray Chevrolet Impala was heading south on Troost when it veered off the road to the left and hit a bus enclosure.

A man had been sitting on the bench inside the stop near 67th and Troost.

The driver ran from the scene on foot, heading east from the crash scene.

The victim was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Bus operations continued Wednesday morning, with the bus picking up and dropping off riders at the corner rather than the stop.

RideKC supervisors were on scene assessing the damage.

KCATA is currently working on debris removal. The installation of a new shelter should be complete by this time next week.
