Man in custody after reportedly shooting his nephew in head

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One man is custody after his nephew told Platte County Sheriff deputies that, he shot him in the head according to a press release by the department.

Deputies responded to a car crash on Interstate 29 near North 173 Highway around 2 a.m. Tuesday.

When deputies arrived, they found an unidentified 26-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the back of his head with an exit wound on the front of his face.

Deputies say the victim told them he was driving the truck when his uncle, Constatin Lavorschi shot him the back of the head.

The victim was taken to an area hospital and is expected to survive.

No charges against Lavorschi have been filed as of early Tuesday afternoon.
