KANSAS CITY. MO. — A man died in a shooting Wednesday afternoon in Independence, police said.
The shooting happened about 12:50 p.m. near Sundown Drive and S. Claremont Avenue.
The victim was transferred to an area hospital and later died.
Independence police identified the victim as 20-year-old Donnie M. Kirkland Jr.
No word on what led to the violence.
Investigation into the incident is ongoing.
